Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): pull cord, rope and pulley, recoil starter

Question
lo m8te just sending u a question 4 a briggs & stratton petrol lawn mower its  model number is 9d902 type 2033 i have had it about a year and the pull cord has snapped ive bought a new pulley cord but just wondering how 2 fit it without taking everything 2 bits thanks darren

Answer
 Hello Darren:

Remove the Blower Housing(metal engine cover). Then Unbolt the Recoil from the Blower Housing. Without Removing the Pulley, Remove the Broken Rope from the Pulley. You should see the Knotted/Stapled End of the Old Rope in the Pulley. Once the Old Rope is Removed, then Turn the Pulley Towards the Hole in the Recoil Housing Until the Spring is Tight. Reverse the Pulley 1 to 2 Turns and Line the Hole in the Pulley with the Hole in the Housing. Push the New Rope Through the Hole in the Pulley and When it Exits the Pulley Thread it Into the Hole of the Housing. Pull the Rope Until the Knotted End is Tight Against the Pulley. Tie a Slip Knot in the Rope to Hold the Rope and Pulley in Place while the Handle is Attached to the Rope. Release the Slip Knot and the Rope Should Retract into the Housing and Onto the Pulley. Reassemble the Parts and you are Ready to Start the Mower. You can View a Breakdown of the Engine and Recoil Starter at this Addy http://www.partstree.net/parts.asp and Click on Parts Look Up. Then Enter the Model Number 9D902 and Click Search. Then Scroll Down to the 9D902-2033 Folder. Open this Folder and Select the Illustrated Parts File. Then Select the Blower Housing and Recoil File. This will Show a Breakdown of the Recoil Starter and Blower Housing. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
