Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower stops with half a tank of gas, craftsman riding lawn mower, sears craftsman

I have a Sears Craftsman LT 1000 riding lawn mower
with a Kohler 17HP engine. As soon as I bought this lawnmower it had the problem where the engine starts to stutter when it gets to a half a tank of gas. Playing with the choke will smooth it out for a few minutes, then it starts stuttering again. Finally it will die and I have to refill the tank. It does start right back up and works fine until it gets to a half a tank. I have changed the fuel filter and the air filter with no results.

 I need the Sears Model Number, Please. It will look something like 502.123654. However, If this has the Tank that has the Pickup Tube in the Tank, The Pickup Tube May have a Hole in it. Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank. With the Model Numbers I can View a Breakdown of the Mower and Better Assist you. Hope this Help. Let me know what Happens, Please.
