Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 18.5 hp briggs & stratton OHV, briggs stratton, hp briggs

Question
I was cutting grass on a ditch bank and blue smoke started coming out the exhaust I got off the slope and the smoke stopped. The motor will idle ok but when you open up the throttle it wants to spit back through the air intake on the carburator. Have I burned a valve or possibly bent one? Any suggestions on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
 Hello Tony:

The Main Jet Inside the Carburator has Oil in it. The Oil May or May Not Clear itself Out of the Carburator. Run the Engine for 10 to 15 Minutes at Full throttle and if it Doesnt Clear up, then Clean and Rebuild the Carburator. A Bent or Burnt Valve would cause Problems even at Idle. Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these Numbers I can View a Breakdown of the Engine and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
