Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): gas in the crankcase, honda gc160, horsepower motor

Question
I have a 2 year old Honda GC160 5.0 horsepower motor that is leaking gas into the crankcase.  What could be causing this?  It only has about 10 hours on the motor.

Thanks for your help.

Mike

Answer
 Hello Michael:

1- Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank Properly. 2- The Carburator Float Needle isnt Stopping the Gas Flow to the Carburator and is Flooding the Cylinder. Clean and Rebuild the Carburator. Install a Cutoff Valve in the Gas Line and Turn Off the Gas Flow whenever the Mower is Not in Use. If you Decide to Attempt this Repair Yourself, Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. I May be Able to Locate a Breakdown for you to View Online that will Assist you in this Repair. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
