Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): leaking has, briggs and stratton, gas tank

I have a briggs and stratton lawnmower and the gas is leaking out at the top rim of the container that holds the gas.I can't figure out how to take it off .Can you help.

 Hello Jan:

 Send me the Make, Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these Numbers I May be Able to Locate a Breakdown Online that will Show you how the Gas Tank is Removed. The Numbers are Located on the Metal Engine Cover, most times Above the Spark Plug or Over the Muffler. Thanks.
