Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): changing belt on 2005 husqvarna, yth2448, c stewart

i have a 2005 husqvarna riding mower (YTH2448) I noticed on the 2006 models there is a lever to help change the belt easly. my mower does not have this leaver.can one of these leavers be put on my mower? or could you tell me some easy way to replace the belts? i'm not in real good health, and i don't have the strength to try to strech these belts. i would appreciate your help.  thanks c. stewart

I have not seen or tried to install the belt change levers on the 2005 mower.

To assist in replacing the belt we have several special tools that aid in removing and installing the spring.  You can find most of these tools on-line or from tool dealers.

The most common tool is a large hook on one end with a handle on the other.  

You may also be able to start the belt on a couple of pulleys and then turn the assembly to assist in installing the belt.
