Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower help, tank caps, gas tank

Question
First, I have a 22” Murray 4.5 push lawnmower.  It starts up just
fine after I prime the engine and then shuts down after about 5
seconds.  Any ideas?  It was pretty dusty last time I used it.  Is it
likely the air filter?  Would simply replacing it be the answer?

Second, I have a Cub Cadet 1000 series riding lawn mower.  It
started up fine and I wnet about 10 feet before I noticed the
engine sounding strange.  Like it was running out of gas I think.
The tank is full.  While trying to restart, the starter cranks away
but it doesn’t turn over.  If I pull out the choke and try starting
it, then push in the choke, it makes noises like it is starting to
turn over for a few seconds but doesn’t start.

Thank you.

Answer
 Hello Marshall:

It sounds like your Luck is like Mine. The Problem with Both Mowers is the Carburator. You can Check the Gas Tank Caps, but if they are Good, then the Carburators need to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
