1- Check the Clutch Safety Switch. 2- Check the Fuse. 3- Check the Starter Soleniod. how do you perform these checks?  All help appreciated cause I am very illiterate and am not a mechanic.  Thanks so much May GOD Bless you!!!

Answer -
 Hello Chauncey:

1- Take a Short Wire and Jumper the Plug that is Plugged Into the Safety Switch. 2- The Fuse is Located Near the Ignition Switch. 3- Take a Jumper Cable Set and Using One Lead of the Jumper Cable Set, Place One End on the Large Post of the Soleniod that leads to the Battery. Take the Other End and FIRMLY Touch the Other Side of the Soleniod that Leads to the Starter. If the Starter Turns, then the Safety Switch or the Soleniod is Bad. Check the Fuse First. Then Jumper the Safety Switch and I see there is a Neutral Safety Switch also. This will have to be Jumpered like the Clutch Safety Switch. For a Breakdown of the Mower, go to this Addy http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H and Enter the Model Number. This will get you to a Page that you can Access the Breakdown for All the Mower. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Chancy:

My Last Email was the Diagnostic to Locate the Problem. We now know the Starter is Good. This Mower Has a Fusible Link to Ground Instead of a Fuse. Sorry, I was Looking at a Different Model that has a Fuse. However, Lets Continue the Diagnostic and Locate the Cause of your Problem. Im New at Explaining this on the Web, so Please Dont Hesitate to Email me with Any Question you May have about this Diagnostic. I Explain it Basically the Way the Shop Does it. Take a Short Jimper and Place One End on the Battery Side of the Soleniod. FIEMLY Touch the Small Post on the Soleniod. If the Engine Turns the Soleniod is Good. Now Check the Seat Safety Switch. Unplug and Place the Junper Wire Into the Plug of the Harness. Turn the Key. If the Engine Turns, then the Seaty Safety is Bad. If Not, then Locate the Neutral Safety Switch and Jumper it. Turn the Key. If the Engine Does Not Turn, then, Locate and Jumper the Clutch/Brake Safety Switch. Unplug and Jumper this the Way you did the Seat and Neutral Safety Switchs. Turn the Key. If the Engine Doesnt Turn, then Locate the Blades Safety Switch and Jumper it. Turn the Key. If the Engine Still Doesnt Turn, Then Locate the Fusible Link in the Harness to Ground and Replace it. If the Engine STILL Will Not Turn, then the Ignition Switch is Bad. Thats the Complete Test to Locate the Problem you are Having. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.
