Hello John.  The head lights do not work.  Just got the tractor.  Engine code E883370085, Tractor code M00318x489436.
There are 2 fuses I can find 20 amp with pink wire.  3 amp with red wire both good with voltage.  The wire color  at the swithch is yellow. Light switch is good, no voltage at yellow wire.  Found bare pink wire at power take off fixed this probably not related.  Also the safety switch at the seat not ding its job.
Charging system doing fine.  Tried the link you posted to the online john deere online wiring diagram.  it was broke .  the main site required a login and password.  Thank you for your time.

 Try this Addy http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter your Model Number 318. Then Choose the Model to View. Then Choose Electrical. Then Choose Headlights and Tail Lights. Check the Ground Wire for the Headlights. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
