Question -
I bought a 42" cut riding Murray mower 4 years ago. It has been running fine until this year. The engine would stall in the middle of a grass cutting session. If I wait a few minutes, it can be restarted again, then run for a few minutes and stall again. What is the problem? Thanks.

Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure the Cap is Venting the Tank Properly. When the Engine Quits, Check for Spark right then. If No Spark at the Plug, then the Ignition Moduel/Ignitor/Coil May be Bad. If there is Spark, then the Carburator May need Claening and Rebuilding. It Sounds like the Carburator is Starving for Gas. Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Mower and the Engine, Please. With these I May be Able to Locate a Breakdown of the Engine and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Besides the Other Possible Causes for the Problem, I Notice from the Breakdown of your Engine that the Carburator May have a Fuel Control Soleniod. This Soleniod May be Heating Up and Stopping the Flow of Gas to the Carburator Jet.
