Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Elgin Outboard Motor repair, outboard motor repair, seal kit

Question
I have an older Elgin outboard which judging by the decal was purchased at Simpsons Sears and is a 4 HP. I do have a model and serial # but can find nothing on-line that compares. I would like to remove prop but can see no obvious way to remove it. There are no pins, screws etc that are visible and do not want to force anything. Could the prop and shaft be all one unit? This engine has very good compression and I would like to find a seal kit for lower end and use it. Any advice on lower end disassembly or prop removal would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Boy that's an old one. If memory serves me correctly there's a pin behind the prop. Take a close look, if there is a notch on the skirt of the prop that's where the comes out. I find all the parts for those old ones online. A good place to find the seals is Applied Industrial Technology. GOOD LUCK
