Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn mower, starter fluid, carburator

Question
I was mowing my lawn. The mower was doing well. A hex screw that mounts the engine became loose and fell off.  I replaced the screw and the mower was working well, then it suddenly died. I tried to restart it. It turns over but stops running. What happened to the mower?

Answer
 Hello Alex:

As I Understand the Proble: The Mower will Start and Run 10 to 15 Seconds and Quits. If this is Correct, then Try to Run the Engine for 25 to 30 Seconds with Starter Fluid. If you are Able to Run the Engine With Starter Fluid then the Carburator needs to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank. Check the Gas Filter. Remove the Gas Line to the Carburator and Ensure the Gas Flow to the Carburator is Good. If None of the Things I have Mentioned is the Problem, then Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Mower and Off of the Engine, Please. With the Numbers I can View a Breakdown of the Mower and the Engine and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
