Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): My Murry Riding Tractor transmission will not engage, drive pulley, transaxle

I just picked this 30" Riding Mower made by Murray select from a friend for nothing but the transmission does not work? any question or suggestions?

 Check the Drive Belt. What Exactally is Happening with the Transaxle? Is the Shifter Moving into a Gear but the Mower Not Moving? Is the Shifter Frozen? Will the Drive Pulley on the Transaxle Turn By Hand? Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Mower and Off the Transaxle, Please. With these I can find a Diagram of the Transaxle and Better Assist you.
