Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler ignition, blown head gasket, devil boat

Question
Hello John,

I have a 25hp Kohler v twin engine on a go-devil boat drive and I have lost all the power to one cyl at idle.  I have replaced the plugs, cleaned the carb, checked all linkages and so on.  The spark seems to be week on the non firing side and there is very little heat generated at the exhaust.  The engine seems to come up and run on both at about 1/2 throttle but doesn't seem to make as much power as it used to.

How can I check the output of the primary ign system?  Is there any way that the carb can cause poor fuel to just one cyl?

Answer
 Hello Shane:

Depending on the Model of the Engine, there could be Several Possible Causes for this Problem. Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these I can see a Diagram of the Engine and Better Assist you. However, it Sounds like the Valves on the Cylinder are Not Working Properly or it May be a Blown Head Gasket. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
