Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 4 hp B&S, adjustment screws, hp motor

Question
Hello I have a Quatum 4 hp motor and it has the primer bulb when I start it up it runs for 2or3 seconds and dies so I got a carb kit and cleaned and blowed out the carb put in a new primer bulb after that I tried to start and it did the same thing it would only stay running when I kept pushing on primer bulb so now I dont know whats wrong Please help Thanks Charles

Answer
 Hello Charles:

If the Engine has Fire at the Plug and The Compression is 70psi or Above, then the Carburator Requires an Overnight Soaking in Cleaning Solution. Then Blow All Ports and Passages Out with Compressed Air. The Varnish that Gas Forms Will Not Normally be Removed by a General Cleaning with Gum Out or Carburator Cleaner in a Can. Does This Carburator have Adjustment Screws? Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off the Engine, Please. I can Better Assist you After Looking at a Diagram of the Engine. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
