 Hello Dan:

 Yes. Unplug the Field Plugin on the Vehicles Alternator Before Doing it. This Allows for Just the Battery Doing the Jumping, Not the Alternator. Anytime you Use a Vehicle to Jump Another Engine, **ALWAYS UNPLUG THE ALTERNATOR FIELD** this Prevents the Two Charging Systems from Back Feeding Each Other and Possible Damage to the Alternators.
