My 10+ year old Ryobi 790R Pull Cord won't retract. It seems to be fully pulled out. I have sprayed WD40 in the cord's hole..no luck. This trimmer has been a real workhorse.

Thanks for your help!
Ted

 Hello Ted:

It Sounds like the Recoil Spring has Broken. Go to this Addy http://mtd.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=MTDC&lang=EN&TF=Mainframe&l and Have the Serial Numbers Also. Pick the Brand in the Upper Left Corner as MTD Brand and the Model #790R. This will Take you to the Screen where you Pick your Trimmer Using the Serial Numbers. You can see a Complete Breakdown Of the Engine Here. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John

Answer
 Hello Ted:

Sorry. That was the Actual Diagram Addy. It Expired when I left the Page. Here is the Addy http://www.mtdproducts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/corporate/index.jsp Click on Parts and Accessories. Then Click on Launch Illistrated Search Engine. Then Enter the Brand BTD Brand and Below that the Model Numbers. Sorry Again. I get in a Hurry and Forget about some of these Sites. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
