Question -
I have a MTD Yard machine riding mower. How do I adjust the brake/clutch? I have to push it way too far for the brake to stop the machine and/or the clutch to engage. Thanks for your help.

Answer -
 Hello LB:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. There are Different Types of Adjusters on the Market and it Depends on your Model as to Where the Adjustment is Made and the Type of Adjustment you will want to make. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello LB:

Go to this Addy http://mtd.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=MTDC&lang=EN&TF=Mainframe&l and then Select your Brand and Enter the Model Number(in the Upper Left Corner of the Page). The Next Page will Show the 2 Mowers Listed. The First One Listed is Your Mower. Click on this and a New Screen will Open. Select the Drive/Frame/Pedal assembly/Wheels, Rear. Look at #71 and #109. Number 109 is Threaded Onto #71. This is the Clutch Adjustment. The Brake is Adjusted Seperately. Enlarge the Diagram 4 Times and Look at #47(brake rod) and #54(Spring). Where the Spring(54) Connects to the Brake Actuator, there is a Nut that will Adjust the Brake Pads. You Need to Check the Brake Pads and Ensure they Arent Worn Out, before you Adjust them. I was Thinking this Diagram May Help in that Process. Once the Brakes are Adjusted, then Make Any Required Adjustments to the Clutch. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck
