Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mower just cuts off ?, john deere dealer, john deere mower

hey john and thanks for the reply. I then took off to the local john deere dealer after getting your response to purchase a coil ignitor for my lt 155 mower to stop the upcoming weekend of push mowing demanded by you know who.(wife) if i cant get the rider working.well i must not have given enough info to you on problem solving. my mower is a kohler engine so it has no coil ignitor.whoops back to pushing huh? well i had a lenghty conversation with the mechanic around back of the john dealer.....yes for wifes whom may read this I did it i asked for directions okay. and he suggested to start with checking gas hoses may be vapor locking upon heating up from engine and maybe collapsing? well after changing the first three inches of hose and installing a new filter (2nd one) i decided to run mower and just see because three inch section of hose had a small bend in it beside the engine? it ran perfect for about a hour and hope that was the fix? a three inch section of gas hose. wow and think my wife would have gotten such joy in watching me push again.ha ha the lord works in mysterious ways huh ?

hey and thanks up front for any help! i have a john deere mower lt 155 . the mower will start and run perfect like a brand new one but after you cut grass for about 10 minutes its like someone reaches up and cuts the key off it just dies ? can sit there and cool off start back up runs another 10 minutes or so then just turns off.? i have replaced the coil its new also had the carb redone new kit installed and set back to factory specs by dealer.? any suggestions on what is causing this.....please help bill. tired of my wife making me push cut our lawn ha ha.

 Hello Bill:

 One Quick Check. Use the Mower and when it Shuts Off, Check for Spark at the Spark Plug. If No Fire, then Check All the Safety Switches and Ensure they are Good. If the Safety Switches are Good, then the Coil/Igniter is Bad. Push Mowing is Good for your Health (so My Wife Says, but I disagree) Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
