Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John deere 160 stalling, john deere 160, carburator

Question
I have a john deere 160 that was passed down to me, and sometimes I only get a couple minutes of mowing in before it cuts out.  I have cleaned the carburator, replace the fuel filter, and replaced the air filter on this.  After I did all this it seemed to be running fine for a couple months.  But now it has started to cut out again.  Does this sound like there is something in the fuel line clogging the fuel?  When this first starting happening it only cut out with I engaged the blades, but now it does it when they are engaged or not.

Answer
 Hello Lucas:

When you Cleaned the Carburator, Did you Clean the Gas Tank Also? If the Tank wasnt Cleaned, then the Trash/Water that May have been in the Tank May be Causing the Problem. The Filter Wont Stop Water and Some of the Smaller Particals of Trash. Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting Properly. When you Rebuilt the Carburator, Did you Soak it Overnight in Cleaning Solution and Blow All the Ports and Passages Out with Compressed Air? Im Thinking from your Explaination that Trash/Water has Re-entered the Carburator. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
