Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro riding mower wont start and deck blades wont engage, bagging system, charging system

Question
I have an old Toro riding mower made appoximately in the late 80s or early 90s.  I purchased a new battery 3 months ago and now it just gives me a clicking noise when I try to start it.  I jumped it and it fired right up.  In the middle of cutting my yard, I disengaged the deck blades to empty the bagging system but I didn't power the mower off just in case it didn't start again.  When I got back on it to mow some more the deck blades would not engage anymore.  The battery still won't start unless its with a jump.  Do you think it is the charging system, a bad battery or something else?  I really appreciate your help and expertise.

Answer
 Hello Jay:

Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. I need to Look Up the Engine to See what Type of Charging System is On the Engine to Properly Assist you. However, You can have the Battery Load Tested at your Local Automotive Parts Store. The Charging System should Show 12.5VDC to 13.0VDC on a Volt Meter when the Engine is Running at Full Throttle. More than 13.0VDC is Ok. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Plesae.

 Good Luck
