Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Drive belt, Sears lawnmower, plastic debris, drive shaft

Question
Model number is 917.377131.  Would another idea be just to try and force the belt through the small clearance between the shield and bottom of the mower deck.
The directions that came with the belt are absolutely worthless, all that was discussed was removing the front top belt cover, which even I could figure out!

Thanks again for the help, really appreciate it.

Question -
I am trying to replace the drive belt on a sears self propelled lawnmower.  How do I get the dang plastic debris shield underneath the mower off or is there some other method to get the belt around the drive shaft.

Thanks much

 Hello Don:

I need the Model Numbers Off of the Mower to Assist you Properly.  However, some Mowers you must Remove 2 of the Engine Mounting Bolts to Remove the Shield. This will Depend on the Model of the Mower. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

Answer
 Hello Don:

Remove the Blade. Replace the Blade Bolt About Half Way. Take a Puller and Remove the Blade Adapter. You May have to Use Heat Also to Remove the Blade Adapter. Once the Blade Adapter is Removed, you can Remove the Cover. You can View the Breakdown for you Mower at http://www3.sears.com/. Just Follow the Directions to View the Parts Diagram. If you cant find it, Email me and I will Give complete Direction on how to Locate the Proper Page. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
