Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mtd Riding mower, starter fluid, carburator

Question
I can not seem to get enough fuel to keep the mower running. I have spark and gas to the carb. But it will not start and run it trys to but it just won't and i have tried every thing i know how to.  Any good ideas

 Hello Russ:

 If you can Start the Mower with Starter Fluid and Run it for 25 to 30 Seconds (not any more than 30 seconds), then Clean and Overhaul the Carburator. Soak the Carburator in Cleaning Solution Overnight (provided its not the Plastic Carburator) and Blow All Ports and Passages Out with Compressed Air. Hope this Helps.
