Answer
 Hello Dennis:

This Mower iss Made by Murray. I found a Breakdown of your Mower in my manuals and at this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/pdf/Murray/MURRAY-MODEL-42561X8A-LAWN-TRACTOR...(1997)-PARTS-LIST.pdf, However it doesnt say if this is a Hydromatic Drive, Hydrostatic Drive or Standard Transaxle. If it is Hydromatic or Hydrostatic Drive, then it May be Low on Fluid. Some of the Hydro Transaxles have Rubber Plugs Off to the Side of the Cooling Fan, that can be Removed and 80w90 Gear Oil can be Added. Add 1 Pint Only Until the Mower Starts to Move Properly. Then Add 1/2 Pint and Replace the Plugs. If a Standard Transaxle is in your Mower, then Check the Key and Shaft on the Pulley of the Transaxle for Slippage Inside the Pulley. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
