how do i adjust the deck on a craftsman mower  model # 917259540

Hello Mitchell:

 If you go to this Addy http://www3.sears.com/ In the Lower Right Click on Lawn Equipment. Then on the next Screen Enter Model # 917.259540. Click Go. Verify the Infomation and Click Continue. On the next Screen Scroll down until you see View Parts Diagram of Mower Lift. Click View Diagram. Then click Continue. The Diagram will Show you the Adjusters. Put the Mower on Level Concrete or Pavement. Measure the Distance from the Bottom Of the Blades Outermost Cutting Surface to the Concrete or Pavement. Do Both Sides. Now use the Adjuster to Level the Deck. Have you Checked for a Bent Blade or a Bad Bearing in the Quill/Mandrell Assembly? This will cause Unlevel Cut Also. Hope this Helps.
