Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 6.75 gas mower shuts off, gas filter, carburator

Question
I have a Craftsman 6.75 horsepowered, 22 in. gas mower-model #917377190. I bought it new and it's been working wonderfully for the last few years.  It recently started shutting off while cutting the grass.  It will start again but continues to shut off a few minutes later.  I added oil, replaced the air filter and spark plug.  It still shuts off.  Should I replace the gas filter, if so, where is it located?  I've lost the manuel.  Do you have any other suggestions before I give tons of $ to a repair shop?

Answer
 Hello Monique:

You need to Run the Mower Until it Quits, then Check for Spark at the Plug. If the Plug is Firing, then the Carburator is Ditry and Requires a Good Cleaning and Rebuilding. If no Fire at the Plug, then the Ignition Module/Coil is Going Bad. You will neeed to Replace the Ignition Module/Coil. These are the Common Causes for the Problem you Described. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
