Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): murray lawn tractor wont start, murray lawn tractor, soleniod

Question
I have a Murray lawn tractor (42515x92), 17.5 hp Tecumseh motor, that won't start.  I've replaced the spark plug, fuel filter, and air filter.  It seems to be getting spark okay since it will fire up for a few seconds when using starter fluid (ether).  I cleaned out the carburetor bowl and assured myself that the float and needle valve seeme to be working properly.  There is an electronic needle valve on the bowl assembly that I'm curious about.  I've checked and remade the electrical connections for that electronic needle valve.  I blew out the ports in the carburetor and the bowl assembly, including the small brass aperature in the bowl, with my air compressor.  After cranking for 15-20 seconds, I removed the spark plug and it seems dry.  Everything points to it getting no fuel but I can't figure out why it wouldn't be getting it.  Can you help?

Answer
 Hello Phil:

Over Time the Gas Forms a Varnish inside the Carburator. To Really Clean the Carburator, it Requires Soaking Overnight in Carburator Cleaning Solution. Remove the Electric Fuel Soleniod and Block it with a Short Bolt. Try to Start the Engine. If it Runs but Runs Rough, then Replace the Fuel Soleniod. If Not, then Clean and Overhaul the carburator. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
