Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman riding lawn mower - wont go into gear, craftsman riding lawn mower, riding lawn mower

Question
Model# 536 270112 - I didn't see anything about hydrostatic or hydromatic.  It said something about transaxle and how many speeds which was a 5 and R.  Hope this helps.  Do you know where I should look exactly to find the hydrostatic/matic wording?

Question -
I have a Craftsman Riding Lawn Mover 10hp 30" cut.  I was mowing the lawn recently when i got stuck on a very small unlevel piece of yard.  I shut the mower off and pushed it foward a bit.  I started them mower back up and it starts fine but will not go into any gear.  I checked the belt - it is not off the pulleys nor is it broken.  Do you know what it might be or where else I should trouble shoot problems.  I am not familar with riding mowers I just traded my mother for this she wanted a push mower as her yard is much smaller.

Answer -
 Hello Danielle:

Send me the Model Numbers Off The Mower. I Require them to Look up the Mower and see what Type Transaxle is in the Mower. Does it Have Hydrostatic or Hydromatic On the Mower? Thanks.

 Respectfully

 John

Answer
 Hello Danielle:

Could you see if the Linkage was in a Bind? Go to this Link http://www3.sears.com/ and in the Lower Right Cornerr Click on Lawn Equipment. On the Next Screen, Enter your Mowers Model Number and Click Go. On the Next Screen, Verify the Information is Correct and Click Continue. On the Next Screen Choose Diagram for Motion Drive and Click Continue. The Page that Pops Up is a Complete Breakdown of your Drive System. Remove the Belt from the Transaxle Pulley. Will the Mower Move? Can the Pulley on top of the Transaxle be Turned with the Transaxle in Neutral? You Dont have a Hydrostat Drive. No Worries. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck
