Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Drain plug snapped off, center punch, blue thread
QuestionAfter changing oil on my 5.0 Craftsman push mower, I tightened the drain plug just a bit too hard...it snapped off! I figured I'd just have to change the oil tipping it over from now on. This week I noticed it is now leaking oil under there at the broken off bolt plug. I guess I have to somehow have it removed, but how? Thanks.
Answer Hello Mike:
Center Punch the Broken Plug and Drill A Hole in the Plug(1/4' Drill Bit will Do). Purchase an Easy Out Set from your Local Automotive Parts Store and Remove the Plug. Use Blue Thread Lock to Ensure the Plug Doesnt Vibrate Out. Be Carefull when Installing the New Plug. Dont Break it. If You Do. Repeat the Above Procedure. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
Good Luck
