Hey Allen,
I checked for leaks and don't see any and as far as me taking it back to the shop I tried that.  They informed me that there are no returns after 30 days.  That is my last time there.

How do i check for the obstruction or membrane problem.  The grass is growing under my feet.

Thanks.

Shey

Question -
I have a craftsman 6.75hp 21" self propelled lawn mower that i just had serviced.  I have used it once and the next time i tried to crank it it keeps going dead.  If I prime it, it runs for a couple of seconds and then stops.  I was told that there might be air getting in through a gas line or something like that.  I did get it to run long enough to cut part of the yard with but then it stopped agian and i couldnt get it to crank back up.

what could be the problem.

Thanks.

Hiya Shey
Shey - if it came out of the shop this way- take it back.  If the problem started later, we can diagnose it depending on what you want to do.

You have a fuel delivery problem.  An obstruction is preventing fuel from getting to your engine, or you have a bad fuel pump membrane.  Obviously you should look for any leaks, in a fuel line their readily apparent.

Lemme know what you want to do- CYA

HI agian Shey
OK-

1- Replace the gas cap
2- Verify fuel flows to the carb (pull the line lose and check)
3- If the carb has a fuel bowl, drop it and make sure gas flows freely into the carb(should be a good stream, not a drip)

Lemme know if you need advice on removing the fuel bowl

Answer
Hi Shey
The fuel bowl is a silver cup lookin thing right under the carburator, which in turn, is right behind the air filter housing.

You may have to remove the air filter housing to get at it.  You have some tools?
