Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Recoil starter rewind, recoil starter, pvc plastic

Question
What is the easiest way to rewind a recoil starter spring on my Weedeater M/N Gti 22V blower? I have disassembled the unit and the spring needs to be rewound within the small metal housing. What prompted the repair attempt was the fact that the starter cord would not retract fully. I only had benefit of about 1/2 of the length. When checking out the starter, I  manually wound the ratcheting mechanism to take up all slack. I could sometimes hear the spring uncoiling as I did this. I think it was slipping off it's attachment point within the housing. Surmising that the loop on the spring had become detatched, I disassembled the unit. The loop on the inside portion of the spring does not fit over an internal post, it simply loosely fits in a gap of the inner circle of the plastic rewind spool.I am finding this spring is very difficult to rewind. Please help!!

Answer
 Hello Rick:

Get a Piece of PVC Plastic that is Just Smaller than the Spring Seat(where the Spring Sets inside the Housing). The Pipe is Only 1" Long. Wind the Spring Inside the Pipe and then Insert the Pipe into the Housing. Hold the Spring in Place and Remove the Pipe. Make Sure the Outer Lock Ear of the Spring Catches the Pin in the Housing. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
