Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman LT200 wont stay running, craftsman lt2000, ok cya

Question
I have a Craftsman LT2000 18HP Mower that I used with no issues just 2 weeks ago.  It is stored in a closed off shed.  I tried to use it yesterday and it started fine.  The engine runs with no issues at any throttle setting, but when the brake is released or the blades are engaged, no matter the transmission setting, the motor will die.  I changed the spark plug and have good gas in it.  The only thing that happened was it might have been jarred while rolling it out of the shed and hitting a tree with the back end.  I have verified that wiring seems to all be good, and I have looked at the main pulley while running and it is not out of balance and looks good.  I haven't done anything with the carb or fuel filter since it runs fine otherwise.

Answer
Hiya Chris-
If you raise the seat you will find a sensor that is designed to kill your engine if it isn't activated by your weight while the mower is in gear, or the blade deck is running.  Its a safety switch.  You may test it by unplugging the connector and inserting a small piece of wire, shortened paperclip etc.  Just don't let it touch metal (put a bit of tape on the jumper)  Then give her a go- if this is your problem, look over the sensor for debris, a bent or broken part- something is preventing it from operating (it has to make in order for the mower to run- its a fail-safe)

Theres a good chance that hitting that tree bent the seat bucket, or some part of the mechanism, causing mis-alignment significant enough to prevent actuation.

Lemme know what you find ok?
