Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): HONDA 4213 RIDING MOWER overheat, honda riding mower, engine cooling system

Question
Hi John,

My Honda riding mower does okay for 30 minutes, then overheats with buzzer.  I STOP, then wait five minutes -- then RUN for two minutes, then WAIT for five minutes -- over and over.   I have coolant okay and there is no junk in the screen and the foam filter is clean.  Driving me nuts!!

Can't find my manual for some into.  Sure hope you can help.

Thanks a million.

Answer
 Hello Ed:

It can be the Coolant Sensor is Going Bad. Does the Engine Seem Hot? Is the Exhaust Port and Muffler Allowing the Engine to Exhaust Properly? If the Sensor is Good, then the Ignition Module/Coil may be Bad. You are saying the Overheat Buzzer is Going Off each Time it Shuts Off. If this Is Correct, then Check the Engine Cooling System and the Sensor First. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
