Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 42in. cut Riding Mower, gas fuel, fuel filter

Question
Lawnmower wont start. Removed old gas because it smelled like paint. Have replaced gas, fuel filter and spark plug.  Gas obstruction just after you pass the fuel filter. Removed screw from carburator bowl to drain old gas and tried to blow through fuel line, after fuel filter but obstruction remains.  There is a plastic or teflon block that makes the turn from the gas line into the carburator/intake assembly. What would be your recommendations?

Answer
 Hello Joseph:

If the Gas Smelled Like Paint then, the Carb will have to be Removed and Cleaned and Overhauled. The Gas has Formed a Varnish and Must be Cleaned Before the Engine will Operate Properly. It may Require Soaking Overnight in Carb Cleaning Solution too. The Blockage you speak of is the Carb Float Needle is Frozen and Gas Isnt getting into the Bowl Now. Hope this Helps.  Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
