Question -
I would like to know the 3 wire connections for the new motor.  I am replacing in a small parade car and the old engine would run just by pull start as long as the kill sw was open ( had 2 wire electric start hookup).  The new engine will not start. I have not hooked up the 3 wires to afford electric start/charge and am wondering if this motor needs an ignition sw or jumper on the 3 wire connection to allow spark.

 Hello Bill:

 The Engine Should Fire if the Small Coil Lead isnt Grounded. You can Your Engine in Detail at http://www.odref.com/briggsandstratton/model-12/121600-ms2143-0603.pdf. Two of the Wires should be for the Charging System and the Other One if for the Coil Shut Off. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
