Question
Do you  know the dimensions of the bolt I need?
Is a washer involved?  Any particulars you have would be most appreciated!!  Thanks!!

Question -
I have a Murray Riding Lawn Mower; 14 HP/42" cut; Model #42812X8A.

The "pulley" in the front of the engine has dropped which allows the belt to slip off.  This pulley is attached to a hollow metal shaft(?) or tube.  I'm able to pop the pulley/shaft combo back up into place and mow for a short time but I need to know what part I am missing so that I can fix it.

I've got quite a bit of property to mow and really don't want to use my push mower.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Thanks for your time.

 Hello Jan:

If I Understand you Correctly the Pulley Welded to the Tube isnt Broken from the Tube. If this is Correct, The Bolt that Holds the Pulley to the Engine has Come Loose. Look at the Center of the Tube, it will have a Bolt, Up Inside the Tube. This Bolt Holds the Pulley to the Crankshaft of the Engine. Tighten this Bolt and the Pulley cant Drop. If the Bolt is Missing, Go to the Local Repair Shop and Purchase a New Bolt. **This is a Special Bolt (Case Hardened).** Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

Answer
 Hello Jan:

The Size of the Bolt is 3/8 NF Case Hardened (Grade 8) and you will Require a Lock Washer too. Take your Model Number off the Engine and Go to the Local Small Engine Repair Shop. They can Get you the One you require. If you need to know the Length, I can give you Instructions on how to find out the Correct Length. Send me the Engine Mobel Numbers (located on metal engine cover above the Spark Plug) and I may Have the Length Listed on the Parts List for your Engine. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck
