Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro self-propelled pull start problems, mower deck, oil reservoir

Question
I have a Toro pull-start self propelled mower, and it just extremely hard to pull start.  A man can do it, but I'm having problems.  I know that overfilling the oil reservoir can cause problems, and it is very full (not my doing).  What can I do to fix this?  It will pull to a certain spot, then seems to pull back.

Answer
 Hello Diane:

If the Engine is Over Filled with Oil this Problem can and Does Happen. Look Under the Mower Deck and See if there is a Drain Plug for the Crankcase. If No, then Remove the Oil Fill Cap and turn the Mower Upside Down until the Oil Is Draining. Fill the Crankcase Until it Reads Full on the Dipstick. If it Still Kicks Back when trying to Start it, I would Suggest Checking the Flywheel Key. If the Key is Damaged Even a Small Amount it Will Throw the Timing of the Engine Off enough to cause this Problem. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
