Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): koler engine, stator assembly, jumper cables

my cub cudet will not stay running if i jump it with my car it will start as long as i keep the jumper cables on it will stay running when i take the jumper cable off it starts to cut out on and off then after about 30 sec it dies

Hi Mark-
Your charging circuit has a problem.  On a Kohler thats generally a stator assembly.  You sould probably take this in for repair verses do it yourself-

Your engine relys on the stators output to charge the battery and provide a charging current for the ignition coil.
