QuestionIdles okay, have taken off the head, valves look fine from top, cleaned carb and adjusted however when acclerating to full throttle engine at times backfires through exhaust, runs very rough and evetually and eventually dies... I need help any suggestions?

You have to determine what you're losing.
Take a small squirt bottle of gas and shoot it in the carb next time it starts to die. If it picks up- its a fuel problem, if not, its a timing/ignition problem.
Kinda does sound like timing/valve lash.
You also need to test the spark when it dies. A failing ignition coil will produce these symptoms.
I believe there is a procedure for setting the timing on these engines, do you have it?
