Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower, retainer ring, screw driver

Question
i prime the lawn mower and it starts but it will stall. if i hold the prime button in it will keep running and soon as i let go it will sputter and stall. first time repair guy here

 Hello Alan:

 The Primer Bulb could have a Pin Hole in it. The Carb may need to be Cleaned and Overhauled. Replace the Bulb First. Take a Flat Screw Driver and Pop out the Retainer Ring at the Base of the Bulb. the New Bulb will have a New Ring with it. Hope this Helps.
