Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tecumseh 6.75 (craftsman) mower, engine model type, head bolts

Question
The engine started to lose compression through the lower part of the head gasket.  Head was warped.  I took it apart, put it back together with new gaskets and new head.  I had no idea how the governor lever should be adjusted, so that setting is a bit random.  Is there a standard procedure for adjusting this ?  Initially the mower would start and run fine, but would not restart if shut off when warm.  The plastic air cleaner/choke housing is a bit deformed, and now gasoline leaks from the choke area.  I'm pretty sure I need a new plastic housing.  The last time I went to use the mower, it blew the lower section of the head gasket again, and now has no compression.  I haven't checked to see if the new head is warped again.  Maybe I torqued the head bolts incorrectly.  Is there a standard torque procedure, or should I buy the mower-specific service manual ?  Any advice would be much appreciated.

Answer
 Hello Prantl:

What head Torque did you use? Torque is 45 to 50ft pds. Did you Replace the Head Bolts? If No, then Replace the Head Bolts when you Replace the Head Gasket this time. The Old Bolts have Weakened and Stretched. Also make sure the Surface Area of the Engine Block is Smooth. Torue the Head Bolts From the Center Out and Go 180 Across, like Torque on a Straight 6 Cylinder Automotive Engine. If you want to get a manual; your local NAPA can Order you one or you can get one from
