Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mower wont start, blade tip, tree stump

Question
I was mowing my lawn the other day and accidentally hit a small tree stump that was sticking out of the ground. My lawnmower died out & I have not been able to start it since.
What did I break?

Couple things you gotta do.  It isn't terminal, mower can be fixed.  BUT,...  you gotta take it to a GOOD shop.  ASK to make sure they know how to straighten a bent crankshaft.  If they seem unsure GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

A good shop will be able to replace your sheared flywheel key AND check your crankshaft(lots of times it gets bent when it strikes something hard enough to shear a key)  For them its a simple check. Tell them what happened and that you know you probably need a new key.  And please check the crank and blade to make sure they're not bent.  You can make a rough check yourself, flip it on its side, mark where a blade tip TRAVELS on the inside of the deck, check that the other blade tip travels along the same path (or not).
Good luck- lemme know how it goes ok?
