Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 19.5HP Craftsman stalls under load, mixture settings, fuel mixture

Question
I have a Craftsman 19.5 HP with a B&S 42E707 engine (Purchased in 1997). Last week after cutting half of the yard, it decided to stall each time the engine was under a load. I verified I had no obstructions and could move the blades by hand. I suspected a fuel issue and replaced my fuel filter/spark plugs/air filter. I still had my issue and my mower stalls as soon as I engage the blades. I played with the carb and fuel mixture settings and can get the tractor to not stall when I engage the blades, but it still stalls when I try to cut grass (on highest setting and grass is not overly thick). Any feedback would be appreciated.

Answer
 Hello Joe:

The Problem could be the Carb needs to be Cleaned and Overhauled and the Ports and Passages Blown out with High Pressure Air. Also the Valves might need to be Reseated and Lash set. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
