Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S 10A902, murray lawnmower, speed control

Question
Hi John,
I've had this Murray lawnmower for 6 years and have tried replacing the plug, cleaning the air filter, etc, but it still keeps surging. I also noticed that while the two governor springs do not look stretched, they seem to serve no purpose at all. There is no tension in them regardless how I move the speed control. I need a diagram that shows this particular model so I can verify if the springs are in the right place (should be) and if there are any carb adjustements I can make (I could not find any). Thanks a lot.

Answer
 Hello Tom:

I dont have any way to send the Diagram you need. You can go here http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and they can get you a manual. The surging is usually caused by a dirty Carb. The Springs are usually loose when the Engine isnt running.  Clean and Overhaul the Carb. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
