Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 8 Horse Kohler stalls, troy bilt tiller, reset 3

Question
Hi John,

I have an eight horse Troy-bilt tiller that cuts out after about a half hour of use. I drained and put in new fuel and a spark plug. I also cleaned all filters. It runs great but still cuts out after it gets hot. Is there a sensor or oil cooling problem for this? It is 12 yr's young and has no more than 50 hr's run time. Any suggestions?

My Tomatoes and I Thank You,

Mike

Answer
 Hello Mike:

1- When the Engine Stalls, Check for fire to the Spark Plug. If No Spark then the Ignition Module is Bad. This is in the Coil unless the Engine has Points and Condensor. Then Replace the Point Set. 2- The Valves May need to be Reset. 3- The Carb May be Picking up Trash. Check the Fire to the Spark Plug first. This is usually the Problem. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
