Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): oil seal, cotter pin, pin puller

Hi John. I have a  Briggs 18.5 that is leaking oil out from around the shaft, I want to know if the seal can be replaced with out taking the engine apart.And if so does it require a special tool?

 Hello Harry:

 No you dont have to take the Engine Apart. The Seal can be removed with a Cotter Pin Puller. A piece of Pipe the Size of the Seal and Long enough to come out past the Shaft will Install it. Hope this Helps.
