Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carburator problem, twin cylinder engines, twin cylinder engine

Question
I have a Murray rider mower with a B&S 19hp twin cylinder motor.  Upon last start the carburator was  feeding an extremely rich mixture.  The choke is full open and I have adjusted the screw on the carb. throad slightly but couldn't get it to lean out.  This problem came on all of of a sudden.  Can you help me?
Thanks...

Answer
 Hello Bob:

This is a common problem with the Twin Cylinder Engine Carbs. Clean and Overhaul the Carb. The float is, "Sticking" overfilling the Bowl and causing the Carb to flood slightly. Has the Carb started to flood the Cylinders yet? I own 2 B&S 22hp Twin Cylinder Engines and have found to have less Carb Problems if I Winterize by running the Carb Empty of Fuel. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
