Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Poulan Pro Series trimmer, shaft assembly, stroke oil

Question
Since day one, this trimmer has been vibrating when running something feirce. Recently while attempting to use it, the engine fired up while the head was stationary. I mean in lay terms, the business end of the machine wasn t rotating or spinning. About a second later I realized the shat itself was trying to move, but not sure if it was overall vibration or actually trying to spin on me. It is a 31cc running on 40:1 made with Poulan Pro 2 stroke oil and regular fuel. Is it possible that the shaft would vibrate loose from the engine? Way to fix it?

Answer
 Hello Erik:

This is a common problem with Trimmers. You have a bad Trimmer Head Bearing. Thats what is causing the Vibration. It sound like you bought one that had the Bearing bad from the Manufacturer. Not all that uncommon. Replace the Shaft Assembly with a new one and that should stop the vibration. If you continue to use this with the old shaft; you will eventually overheat your engine and lock it up. Hope thei Helps.

 Good Luck
