Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): husky 10 30 snowblower will not move, friction drive, weather man

Question
I have a husky 10 30 blower that will not move( forward&rev), and there is 10 inches of snow in my driveway. The auger turns, and even throws snow when pushed manually. It is a 10hp tec. snow king, and the runing chassis is about 3-4 years old. what could it be? are the in-gauge cable(s) loose? is there an electric safty? does it have a hydrostatic tranny that just need fluid? I am a mechanical engineering student at MTU, so i just need a start, or a good idea what to look for. Also if you knew were to get a microfish (pfd file) of the auger/tranny assembly it would help greatly. Also, i did notice it having less driving power the last time i took it out of the shed(with motor reved wide open.)it was almost like what my old truck did when i had a cloged tranny filter (sliping, but smooth slipping unlike a belt and no burning belt smell). the slipping in the blower did however seem to clear up after it was nice and warmed up hot. today it would not move at all, even in the shed. the motor is brandnew as of october. Now there is alot of snow, and i have no time to shovel our 200 ft driveway with classes all day, and the weather man says more white stuff is on the way to add to our already 200 inches.

Answer
Hi Bill,

I am not sure if your model is equipped with a friction drive plate.  If so, it may need adjustment to give more pressure between it and the drive wheel.  If that's okay, the rubber drive wheel may be worn.  You will need to raise the unit up on blocks, remove the bottom cover and take a look.

Let me know how you make out.
