Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Mower Tune-up, change blade, tune ups

Question
I have a Craftman 6.75hp and I need to tune it up as it is hard to start.
I am planning on changing the spark plug but how do you adjust the carberator.
Thanks,
Steve

Answer
Most late model mowers have no adjustments on the carburetor.  With that said, their carbs are more sensitive to dirt/debri that accumulate in the carb float bowl.

To fix these issues we remove, dis-assemble and clean the carb with compressed air from and air compressor.  We also clean the the tank to ensure the carb remains as clean as possible.

Tune-ups in the shop include:  Oil change, blade sharpen, replace air filter, replace spark plug, clean/wash machine, remove, dis-assemble and clean the carb and finally check the engine RMP and operation.

Most of the hard to start craftsman problems are diectly due to bad/old fuel or dirty carburetor.

Does this help?
